What we fix
Every common fence-repair scenario, handled.
Based on the repair calls we take every week. If your issue is not on this list, call us anyway. We have probably seen it.
Post replacement
Rotted wood posts, shifted vinyl posts, corroded metal posts. We dig, re-concrete, and re-set without disturbing adjacent sections when possible.
Gate hardware
Hinges, latches, self-closing mechanisms, drop rods. Pool-code compliance restored where gates protect a pool.
Storm damage
Post snapped by wind, panel blown loose, gate sheared. We scope insurance-ready itemized quotes.
Panel replacement
Individual panel or section replacement. Color and profile matched to your existing run where materials are still available.
Leaning or sagging sections
Re-align posts, reset footings, reinforce where the load shifted. Usually done without pulling whole sections.
Fence extensions
Adding onto an existing fence, closing an opening, or matching a new section to your old fence.
Material-specific repair
What breaks on each material, and how we fix it.
Vinyl / PVC
Most common: post movement in sandy Florida soil, panel slip from rails, and gate sag. We check the post, footing, rails, and hardware in person, then scope the right repair for that fence.
See our vinyl / pvc installs →Wood
Most common: ground-line rot on pressure-treated posts, board warping from humidity, fastener corrosion. Spot repairs work for 5 to 10 year old fences; 12+ years usually calls for replacement.
See our wood installs →Chain link
Most common: top rail damage, stretched or torn mesh, gate drop. Galvanized coating holds up well in SWFL; most chain link repairs are mechanical, not corrosion.
See our chain link installs →Aluminum
Most common: gate hardware wear, powder-coat chips on direct impacts, section alignment after ground shift. Aluminum itself is rust-proof and very durable.
See our aluminum installs →Metal / steel
Most common: coating breakdown at cut edges or welds, hinge wear, anchor rust on older installs. Re-coating extends life meaningfully before replacement becomes necessary.
See our metal / steel installs →Composite
Most common: panel-to-rail fastener slip after big storms, picket edge damage. Composite material is very stable; repairs usually localized.

When to repair, when to replace.
Usually repair
- Single broken post on an otherwise healthy fence under 8 years old
- Gate hardware failure or alignment issue
- One or two damaged panels from impact or storm
- Leaning section from ground shift (post still sound)
- Stretched chain link mesh or torn top rail
- Coating damage on metal or aluminum from impact
Usually replace
- Multiple posts rotted or shifted on a 10+ year-old fence
- Widespread UV damage or discoloration
- Fence no longer matches current HOA spec
- Material no longer available for section matching
- Extensive storm damage affecting multiple sections
- Boundary-line change that requires moving most of the fence
On the first visit, we walk the fence with you and give you the honest call. We do not sell a repair job that should be a replacement, and we do not push replacement when a repair is what you actually need.
Repair FAQ
Questions we hear on every repair call.
Do you repair existing fences or only install new ones?
Both. True Fence Florida repairs existing vinyl, wood, chain link, aluminum, metal, and composite fences across the Southwest Florida corridor from Bradenton down to Naples. New installs and repair jobs are the same phone number, same team, same estimate process. Repair estimates are free.
My fence was damaged in a storm. Do you do storm-damage repair?
Yes. Storm-damaged fence repair is one of the things we handle most often. Common storm damage we fix: leaning or snapped posts, detached panels, gate hardware that sheared, and post footings that shifted. If you're filing an insurance claim, we provide itemized quotes you can submit. Note: our own workmanship warranty excludes acts of God, which is standard for every fence contractor in Florida.
Is it cheaper to repair my existing fence or replace it?
Depends on the age and condition. A single broken post on an otherwise healthy fence may be a straightforward repair. If the fence has multiple weak spots, widespread panel damage, or materials that are no longer available for a clean match, replacement may be the better long-term answer. We'll give you the honest call on the first visit with numbers for both options.
Can you replace just one or two panels without replacing the whole fence?
Yes. Section replacement is a common fix, especially after storm damage or accidental impact. Matching replacement panels to the existing material, color, and profile is the challenge. Bring us a photo or let us see the fence in person, and we'll source matching materials where available. For older fences where exact matches aren't available anymore, we'll scope a full run to keep the look consistent.
My gate won't close properly. Do you fix gate hardware?
Yes. Broken hinges, worn latches, sagging gates, and gates that drag on the ground are common repair jobs. We replace hardware, adjust alignment, reinforce posts where the load shifted, and install self-closing and self-latching hardware for pool gates that need to stay code-compliant.
Do you fix leaning fence posts without removing the whole fence?
Usually yes. If the post is still structurally sound but the footing shifted (common in sandy Florida soil or after heavy rain), we can realign and re-set the footing without pulling adjacent panels. If the post itself is rotted or cracked, it's a replacement job.
How fast can you respond to a repair request?
Same-day response Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm Eastern. On-site repair visits are usually scheduled within a few business days. Storm-damage calls after a named weather event get prioritized.
Can you add onto or extend my existing fence?
Yes. Extending chain link, vinyl, aluminum, or wood fencing is common work. We match posts, panels, and hardware to the existing install so the old and new sections look like they belong together.
My existing fence is on my neighbor's property. Can you move it?
Yes, with a survey. Boundary-correction fence moves are a specific type of project we handle. Before we can quote, we need a survey that establishes the correct property line. With the survey in hand, we pull the existing fence, set new posts on the legal boundary, and reinstall as much of the original material as is still usable.
